COVID 19
Mulberry Lodge reopened for business July 2020
These are unprecedented times and the situation keeps on changing so we’ve created this page to provide you with the latest information available to us and to keep you up-to-date on how this impacts the McLaren Vale Wine Region and Mulberry Lodge Country Retreat.
We missed hosting our lovely guests during April, May and June 2020 but we had lots of time to work on a few internal and external “isolation projects” This included extra time in the gardens, working in the veggie patch which is overflowing with an abundance of lovely fresh veggies and experimenting in the kitchen with ideas for our breakfasts, picnic hampers and afternoon teas. The Garden Retreat has been freshly painted, the slate floors have been resealed and varnished and all the beautiful jarrah wood has been re-oiled. New bedding and towels have arrived and it's is all looking fresh and beautiful for our guests. We've also created a new deck area outside the Retreat to provide an additional private sitting area for guests. The Electric Bikes arrived early July and they're available for guest use on the Shiraz Trail accessed at the back of the Mulberry Lodge paddock.
Good news is that restrictions for travel within South Australia have now been eased and with the opening of our Interstate borders we are all being encouraged to book some time away in the South Australian regions. Supporting South Australian tourism operators over the next 12 months while our international borders are closed will be key to getting the local economy going again.
As of January 2021 restaurants and cafes can accommodate 1 person per 2 square metres, approximately 50% of their normal capacity which is great news. .Each business/venue must complete a Covid Safe Plan to confirm the maximum numbers they can accommodate at their venue and you must "Check-In". at each venue to help with contact tracing if required. Numbers will differ for each business depending on the space available. Bookings for lunch and dinner are highly recommended due to continued restrictions on numbers. Importantly for a wine region, venues can now serve alcohol with meals. Cellar door tastings are now allowed subject to tastings taking place seated at a table. The numbers of visitors allowed for tastings is still strictly controlled and visitors are encouraged to make a booking. We will continue to keep this page here updated as well as our Facebook and Instagram pages updated as soon more information becomes available.
Check out our special packages such as our Pamper Package or Platinum Package. Our Partners in these packages are all welcoming guests back to their experiences. Summer in the Vale is beautiful; enjoy a walk along our beaches, explore the Onkaparinga Gorge (the river is flowing!), or cycle the Shiraz Trail.with complimentary use of the Lodge electric bikes.
For extra peace of mind and to ensure your and our safety and well-being, we have also implemented the following additional measures:
If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call at any time.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support, we are looking forward to welcoming you soon to Mulberry Lodge Country Retreat.
